Music Department
This department was formed considering the importance that music ministry deserves in supporting and enhancing the church’s mission in the world. Music, when rightly used, can be a great power for good. The purpose of the Music Department is to promote sacred worship and to strengthen and encourage church members in the use of their musical talents. It also provides education and instruction in the effective use of music in the services of the church.
Music becomes even more vibrant and comforting when it is harmonized, especially when the sounds come together with one heart.
In collaboration with the Field Youth Department, our youth musicians prepare and present originally arranged Christian music, reflecting the light of God and their harmony for the honor and glory of God.
The orchestra also presents their music at the Canadian Field Conference, along with a special music video.

Every Spring and Fall, the department holds a special Sabbath afternoon program called “Music Day.” This event features a Sabbath of special music performances by various musicians, accompanied by meaningful meditations.
Throughout the program, church musicians present heavenly music to share the light of God and bring spiritual comfort and inspiration to the congregation.

Many of us have a desire to learn how to play an instrument, but we may not always have the opportunity to begin, or it can feel difficult at first.
This video series offers basic music theory and technique lessons to encourage future musicians to start their musical journey in service for the honor and glory of God.

This video series of music seminars discusses how reformers’ music should be based on the Bible and the Testimonies.
The Music Department held a virtual project called “Music in Your Mailbox,” a special way to share and receive music with fellow members in order to strengthen connection and fellowship. This project encouraged members to send and receive hymnal songs along with greeting messages, creating a beautiful chain of music and spirit. It became a special opportunity to spread joy, deepen fellowship, and uplift one another through the universal language of music.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”-Matthew 5:14-16
Sing the Light is a special busking event created to share the light of the Gospel through heavenly music and to bring glory to our Father in heaven. Musicians dedicate their time and talents to present music in public parks and on busy streets, reaching people beyond the walls of the church.
Through this musical outreach, they experienced what it means to be “the light of the world,” shining for the honor and glory of God. May everyone who listened, whether closely or simply while passing by, have been touched by His Spirit, and may the music have planted a seed of faith in their hearts.
