Good Samaritan Department
Preaching the Gospel to the Poor
in Action

The Good Samaritan Department serves both the Canadian Field and the North American Caribbean (NAC) Division, carrying out practical and compassionate support as Jesus’ bids us.
We are a dedicated team committed to strengthening stewardship and extending compassionate support where it is most needed. Working closely with the IMS Canadian Field Committee, our mission is to assist the less fortunate, respond to legitimate needs within our Field, and participate in recommended NAC Division initiatives.
We invite you to join us in demonstrating Christlike love and generosity. Let us claim God’s promise together: “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” — Proverbs 19:17
To sustain this ministry, we invite you to support it through systematic benevolence (planned, consistent giving).
Please consider setting aside a weekly or monthly amount when giving. Mark your tithe envelope clearly with “Good Samaritan,” or include “Good Samaritan” in the note when sending an e-transfer to [email protected].
We are grateful for your support as together we serve as faithful stewards of God’s goods.
How We Help
There are many ways that the Department helps those that are in need. We receive a wide variety of requests as each person’s situation is so different. There are no two exactly alike! We consider each request with much prayer, diligence and compassion.
Some of the ways we serve include:
Example of a Good Samaritan:
When told about the Hurricane disaster, a certain neighbour replied, “I would like to donate”. The next day, she came with double the amount of her pledge. Enthusiastically, she added, “The second amount is from my sister!” Love has no borders.
